I’m sure you’ve heard of Arduino but aren’t sure what it is. If you don’t, that’s completely OK. I’m here to clarify. It’s crucial to understand microcontrollers before diving into Arduino. Microcontrollers are small computers that are integrated circuits. They are capable of running basic software programs. They use less energy and can run for days, yet they’re still strong enough to analyze data far quicker than humans. Arduino is an Italian startup that creates and sells circuit boards that make using microcontrollers simple.
It’s known as Arduino. Motors, lights, cameras, and even basic robots may all be controlled using Arduino. By now, you’re probably thinking that Arduino is merely a circuit for controlling simple things. However, Arduino also includes a software development environment, which is what sets it apart from other microcontrollers.
Historically, programming microcontrollers required a lot of knowledge, as well as the ability to memorize registers and instructions, followed by the use of specialized hardware. Arduino developed software that allowed you to upload your code to the microcontroller by just connecting the board via USB and pressing a button. Arduino also developed a programming language that allows you to setup all of the Arduino hardware in a consistent manner. The Arduino software is by far one of the most user-friendly programming environments available.
