Welcome back, in the last post we talked about what were the top 4 out of 8 genres of video games. Next let’s explore 5-8.
Fighting: While the concept of fighting and conflict is present in almost all video games “Fighting” games focus all of the player’s intention on combat, this is either 1 on 1, in small groups like a party setting or even against waves of enemies.
Racing: Though one can argue this should be included in the Sports genre it’s impressive that it can stand on its own as a genre so strongly to be its own genre. Just like sports games, these can be realistic simulations or fantastical.
Other: Other ranks a little over Strategy and could include things like Puzzle games or maybe Party games. What are some games you can think that wouldn’t in regular categories either?
Strategy: Ranking the lowest in America however very high in other countries is Strategy games, these games are more often than not more complex in play and in planning. The idea behind these games it to use your wisdom and wit to outsmart your opponent.
